Miller Wins 4 “Hot Brand” Awards

Miller Chill, Sunset Wheat, Peroni and Sparks Plus recognized.

Miller Brewing Company won four “Hot Brand” awards from industry newsletter Impact – more than any other brewer.

The “Hot Brand” awards go to the industry’s most dynamic products, the newsletter said. The Miller brands recognized by Impact were:

-- Miller Chill and Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat in the domestic beer category

-- Peroni Nastro Azzurro in the imported beer category

-- Sparks Plus in the ready-to-drink category

Impact said Miller “scored a hit” with Sunset Wheat.

Speaking of Miller Chill, it said: “Chill quickly gained a following, debuting with a volume rivaling those of established beers – and fellow Hot Brands – like Newcastle Brown Ale and Dos Equis Lager. What’s more, it achieved that impressive 6.2-million-case total in just over six months in national distribution, portending even greater heights for the newcomer in 2008.”

As for Peroni: “In the U.S., its efforts to expand Peroni’s distribution have clearly paid off, as the brand nearly doubled its volume (to 1 million cases) in only two years.”
